Motor vehicle accidents: Passenger dies in Arizona crash

Losing loved ones in crashes are naturally traumatic experiences for the surviving family members. In many motor vehicle accidents in Arizona, passengers lose their lives while drivers suffer only minor injuries. One such an accident occurred in Phoenix on a recent Saturday evening.

A report by the Phoenix Police Department indicates that this three-car crash occurred just before midnight. They say a sedan carrying a driver along with four passengers turned left at an intersection and collided with another car that was traveling through the crossing. The impact caused the first car to strike a third vehicle.

One of the rear seat passengers in the first car suffered fatal injuries and died at the crash scene. Nobody else suffered life-threatening injuries, and those who needed medical treatment were transported to a hospital. It is not clear whether there was a traffic light or another traffic sign at the intersection, nor does the report indicate which driver was at fault. However, officers noted that there was no indication of alcohol or drug impairment in any of the drivers.

Whenever lives are lost in motor vehicle accidents in Arizona, the surviving family members may be entitled to pursue financial relief. If there is proof of negligence by the driver of any of the vehicles that were involved, there might be grounds for a wrongful death lawsuit. An experienced personal injury attorney can assist with the establishment of negligence, which is the basis of any such legal proceedings. Once the court has determined liability, a monetary judgment may be entered to cover documented financial and other damages.
